House Update

Image
It has been a while since I’ve had a house update. Mostly that is because what the crew has been working on has mostly been up in the attic or behind the walls. The big things that have happened is that the Heat Pump HVAC system has been installed and the new fireplaces have arrived. The Heat Pump runs off electricity instead of gas and provides dual heat and cool options. Not that we really need an air conditioner on the Central Coast, but it’s nice to have the option.

On to the new location to hang with Charlie (dog) and the two cats, Daisy and ChaCha. Daisy is very friendly and ChaCha not so much. Charlie is also a sweetheart. At Port Chicago Naval Magazine, 320 men were instantly killed when two ships being loaded with ammunition for the Pacific theater troops blew up. It was WWII's worst home front disaster. We’ve been trying to visit this site for quite a while. Since it is on an active military base, it is very hard to get into. Luckily, everything worked out for this visit. We were also able to go to Lazy Bear restaurant which has 2 Michelin stars and where the son, Austin, of Buzz and Sharon Coors works. It was a lovely evening and Austin took very good care of us! Other highlights of the trip included Mission Dolores, Palace of Fine Arts,...
